Sales of bulletproof backpacks surge after Florida shooting, but how effective are they?

Speaking to a major conservative gathering outside Washington, DC, Vice President Mike Pence addressed the recent school massacre in Parkland, Florida and said the administration will make school safety "our top national priority." (Feb. 22) In the wake of last week's horrific shooting at a high school in Parkland, Fla., many parents are asking what can they do to help better protect their children at school.  One item some parents are turning to: So-called bulletproof backpacks.  Companies that manufacture and sell these products have reported a surge in sales in the week since the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School that left 17 people dead.  The Massachusetts-based Bullet Blocker.
